Newcastle City Council have admitted there's a Climate Emergency and that their past efforts have fallen far short of the radical action that's needed. This comes after the ~3,000 signature petition pushed by our campaigners and pressure group Extinction Rebellion succeeded in putting the climate crisis on the Council's agenda this week!
If there's an emergency, shouldn't you be doing everything you can to address it? We welcome their proposal for a Climate Change Convention and look forward to sharing our fresh solutions. But we're worried that without stating their timeline for action or progress reporting, they're in danger of letting it slip like their 2010 climate pledges.
