Clean Air Newcastle

In 2017 we launched our election campaign on the bridge over the Central Motorway setting out our vision for clean air in the city. Two years on, prominent campaign groups are calling for council leaders to tell us what their vision is over and above simply introducing tolls or charges for vehicles.

As Newcastle Green Party member Clare Andrews set out on BBC Radio Newcastle yesterday, air pollution is a public health emergency and tackling it in the right way could also help to reduce our greenhouse gas emissions from transport and make our city a safer, greener, healthier place to live.
